Title: Senior Procurement Specialist Contract-to-hire The Procurement Engineer (PE) is a fast-paced, high visibility role embedded in the Engineering Department. The Procurement Engineer works closely with Robotics R&D teams through all stages of development and leads all material sourcing, BOM management, and tracking/reporting activities for NPI.

The most important key function of this PE is to support design teams with in-depth technical knowledge of metal forming (machining/sheet metal/welding/additive) technologies and inspection techniques. This PE will be responsible for efficient and traceable sourcing of complicated machined parts with exacting tolerances, while controlling cost and schedule. Responsibilities: Develop and execute product sourcing strategies for NPI Ensure rigid adherence to process and documentation in communicating requirements and changes to vendors Responsible for all engineering NPI sourcing of machined parts, goods, and services Create and manage a network of machine shops and vendors for sourcing complex parts in low volumes while controlling quality, cost, and schedule Track and ensure supplier compliance with terms and conditions Hold vendors accountable for pricing, scheduling, and quality You will manage vendor conflicts professionally yet firmly Manage purchase requests through procurement lifecycle: Identify vendor, negotiate price/schedule, place order, track order status, proactively expedite where needed, track delivery, resolve quality issues Proactively expedite critical and/or late purchased components Provide design guidance on processes and suppliers for manufacturing complex machined parts Review designs/drawings for manufacturability and cost.

Identify suitable vendors based on part requirements Create and maintain project BOMs Use BOMs to execute, track, and report on procurement activity for NPI projects Coordinate between suppliers and internal specialists (eg, Engineering, Quality) to own procurement outcomes and satisfy quality requirements and schedules Maintain all procurement related documentation Prepare and deliver weekly status reports highlighting anomalies and proposed action Collaborate cross-functionally and report status on multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a sense of urgency Minimum Requirements: Please have the ability to review complex machined part drawings and identify tolerances and features that contribute to cost/schedule risks Experienced in costing machined part drawings 5+ years of experience purchasing, and sourcing fabricated and machined parts in a manufacturing environment Expertise in machining and fabrication techniques for metal and plastic parts such as milling, turning, welding, sheet metal fabrication, finishing (anodizing, powder coating, electropolish, nickel plating) Ability to select and qualify appropriate local and international suppliers considering part fabrication techniques, supplier capability, quality, lead time, and cost You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical and commercial issues Expertise in Microsoft Excel, fluency in other Microsoft Office Applications Fluency in ERP/MRP systems (MISYS preferred) Fluency in engineering documentation control practices such as Engineering Change Orders and Product Data Management Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
